Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Tharas is situated near bank of river Beas and in the pious land of Shri Markandey Rishi in the Kullu district of Himachal. It is approximately 23 km away from district headquater Kullu in Rot Panchayat. As all schools are temple of learning so is our school. Our School was first established as Govt Primary School
Tharas in the year 1953. Since then This school is setting its bench mark in field of education . A holy temple of Makrahad is situated near the school which fills the environment of school with positivity
and good spirit. This school was further upgraded as Govt. Middle school , then Govt High School and lastly as Govt. Sen. Sec. School during the year 1963 ,1997 and 2012 respectively . Children from nearby villages like bhadauli , Sachani, Hurla and Nagwain come to this school to learn . We believe in harmonious environment and learning through activity method and dedicated teachers of our school are doing hard to achieve our goal. We have a fully established ICT lab and a well functional library. Almost every year upto 3 or 4 students from our school participate in national level sports competition making us proud in field of sports also.
